Cause I’m thankful

2014 was quite a ride for me. Experienced quite a lot of emotional upheavals, physical pain, mental stress. But I SURVIVED. Just the other day, while talking to a dear friend, when I realized that even though I faced a heartbreak, major back injury and unemployment, I’m still breathing. That’s a sign from the Almighty that nothing lasts forever.

My back injury healed in due course of time, for someone who found it difficult to walk, I’m teaching dance to kids. From unemployment, I’ve landed myself a job that involves writing which has always been my calling. As for the heartbreak, there’s no wound that can’t heal. All it needs is time. 🙂

On the last day of 2014, I want to thank everyone who have in some way or the other helped me this year.

I’m thankful to the Lord, for giving me the gift of life. 🙂

I’m thankful to my Parents, for always loving me unconditionally & supporting me even when I screwed up pretty bad. 🙂

I’m thankful to my Brother, for always being my pillar of strength and my partner in crime. For giving me suggestions and listening to me whenever I needed someone to talk to. For being my best friend all these years. 🙂

I’m thankful to all my Friends, for always being there for me, be it at 3 in the morning or at midnight. For lending me a shoulder to cry on, for encouraging me to write, for making me laugh, for making me happy. 🙂

I’m thankful to my Employer, for giving me a Job when I needed it the most, for teaching me everything from scratch, for encouraging me for petty things, for believing in me when I lost faith in myself. 🙂

I’m thankful to the Kids to whom I teach dance, for always making the child in me alive, for making me smile and look at things from a different perspective, for making me realize that one is as old as one feels. 🙂

I’m thankful to the Blogging Fraternity, for accepting me such warmth and encouraging me by liking & commenting on my blogs. 🙂

I’m thankful to my Ortho & Physiotherapist for healing me. 🙂

I’m thankful to Everyone, who in some way helped me become the person I’m today. 🙂

I’m thankful to God again, for an extremely cute boy in my office who unintentionally makes me want to come to office daily. Just a glance at him gives me immense happiness. 😛 😉

Thank you everyone.

Here’s wishing everyone bucket loads of good wishes for 2015!! Have a prosperous and joyous year!! God bless you all 🙂

Much love,

Shoe Fetish!!

It might be quite evident from my last few posts how crazy I am about footwear. 😛 Well, it all began when I was just two years old. It was my first trip to the mall. My mom went to a shoe store to buy herself a new pair of shoes. As soon as we purchased the shoes and reached the door, a siren went off. The guard at the gate smiled and pointed at my hand. My mom looked & was befuddled to see me holding a shoe in my hand! 😀 Yes, I had picked up a red belly (not even my size) from the store, apparently cause I loved it. We went back to the manager to clear the mess but he was more than amused and informed my mom that he knew we would come back cause I had picked up only one shoe. >:)

So that’s how began my shoe madness. Wherever I went, I bought a pair of shoes. Shoes are, undoubtedly, my first love. If I’m happy, I buy, if I’m sad, I buy, whenever I get my salary I straightway head to Clarks, Carlton London, Forever 21. Shoes give me a boost! 😛 I know most people don’t understand it & my family and friends think I’m crazy. But nothing deters me from pampering myself with a new pair of shoes. 🙂

I’ll let the pictures do the talking 😀

Dressing up for Christmas

It was my friend’s birthday on 19th but since we all were working that day, we decided to celebrate it on 25th as we knew all the malls would be immaculately decked up with decorations. The main motive was obviously getting pics clicked with the festive decorations. 😛

It was mutually agreed that all of us would wear red, going by the spirit of the day.

In this pic, my friend is wearing a beautiful red colored jacket & a red colored top from United Colors of Benetton. She looked very pretty with her well- kempt hair.

IMG-20141227-WA0002

Here, the birthday girl is seen wearing a red dress from Pantaloons and a black coat from Lifestyle. Well, I was just bowled over by her dress.

IMG-20141227-WA0000

I wore a red colored dress (the dress is thrifted) with a check long coat. Keeping in mind the weather the coat was more of a forced thing than a choice. These boots are my fav footwear at the moment so it was quite obvious I’d wear them. 😛 You can read about the boots in this blog.

I hope you liked reading it We had a great time and bought a lot of make up which will be written on soon. Keep reading this space for more! 🙂
I know it’s late but still Merry Christmas! 🙂

Rozana Bakery

It was my friend’s birthday & we realized that we had forgotten to order a cake! 😦 Disappointed, we started running hither & thither looking for a bakery. Someone told us that there was one right around the corner. Without wasting a single minute, we ran.

IMG_2393

Upon reaching there, we were blown out of our minds with the wide variety of confectionaries at the bakery! You name it, they had it! From cakes to pasteries, from pasta to patties, from rolls to chocolates & everything was fresh. It seemed as if we had entered paradise. The staff there was so cordial and patient with us although we literally went crazy thinking what to buy and what not to!

We finally rounded up on a pineapple cake, a few chocolates, patties & arabiata pasta (they made the pasta infront of us) :-). Everything was decently priced and that came as a shocker! The pineapple cake just melted in the mouth! Calling it delicious would be an understatement! I have NEVER in my life had pineapple cake that delectable! The pasta was perfect to my palate, the patties were exceptionally fresh, good & appetizing!

Well, all of us totally loved the place and we shall be going there soon! They say a picture speaks a thousand words. So keep drooling! 😉

Big thumbs up to Rozana Bakery! 🙂

Brogues Love!!

Ever since I saw somebody wearing these amazing brogues, I knew I had to own a pair! 😛 Thence, began my search for an exceptional pair of brogues. Wherever I looked, I was disappointed. Either my size wasn’t available or the color was too bright or they weren’t comfortable. I thought of giving up. 😦 But as they say a step ahead lies success where you give up!

IMG-20141222-WA0008

I stumbled upon Clarks website and found these splendid pair of bone colored brogues. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it was love at first sight1 😛 But my heart sank when I looked at its price. I was almost broke since I had spent all my salary on winter clothes, socks, make up ( to name a few :-D) I felt as if nothing could fill this void that these shoes left!

IMG-20141215-WA0001

I would spend the whole day staring at these shoes, awaiting a miracle. And guess what, my prayers were answered! 🙂 A few days later, I saw that these shoes were on sale and if things couldn’t get better, they were available in my size.

IMG-20141223-WA0007

Without wasting any precious second, I placed an order. The original price was 4000 INR but I got them for 2000 INR. They were delivered to me in a week.

IMG-20141222-WA0009

Now I can’t get over it. I flaunt them at every occasion! 😉 And they have attracted quite a lot of attention! 🙂 Don’t they look alluring? Well, finally I found my perfect pair of brogues!

Much love,

ASP:-)

These boots are made for WALKING!

When it comes to shoes, I know no limit. I feel as if I need to own every kind of shoe ever made! Though there’s still a long way to go but I’m on my way! 🙂

I never owned boots so this winter I knew I needed an amazing pair of boots. Since its so cold out there, I thought of online shopping. Myntra.com was the first name that popped in my head as I’ve never been disappointed by them. They make the delivery within two days & the packaging is splendid, which is what I love.

I am not a fan of knee length boots so my obvious choice was to go for ankle length ones. Since they were going to be my first pair of boots, I played safe and looked for black ones only. I found these amazing GetGlamr boots priced at 1999 INR but since I ordered during the GOSF sale I got them for 1299 INR.

IMG-20141223-WA0006

It wasn’t a surprise that they delivered the boots within two days though the mail informed the boots would be delivered in 10! 🙂 But when I tried them they turned out to be a size small. Disappointed, I mailed them explaining my misfortune. To my utter disbelief, their executive called the next day and assured me that the problem would be taken care of. They exchanged the boots in just 48 hours making me a very happy girl! 🙂

IMG-20141223-WA0008

Now I can’t stop gazing at them. 😉 Very comfortable, immensely stylish & smart.

Thank you Myntra.com for walking the talk and yet again proving your popularity! 🙂

Much love,

ASP 🙂

Born to Stand out

IMG-20141215-WA0006-2

Being born in a family of educators, I was predestined to be a doctor. My Grandpa wanted my dad to become a surgeon which he couldn’t so I was the next in line to fulfil his dreams.
When I was small I wanted to be a pilot, basketball player, a teacher & what not. My parents always encouraged me to do whatever I liked. They were very supportive of my decisions even if I changed them the next minute. My dad always said “Be whatever you want to be but make sure you’re happy being that”.
That always stuck with me. My main aim was to be happy and then think about the things that followed.
I was a bright student throughout. After I completed my master’s I knew I had to go for Ph.D as my dad was a Ph.D in cancer biology. Just saying this makes me perspire! 😛 I applied for an internship at a highly reputed hospital. But after working there for two months, I realized that this wasn’t what I wanted to do with my life. This job didn’t make me happy.
I discussed it with my parents and they supported me. For 2 long years I was unemployed, trying to find a place in this world. My friends had landed themselves great jobs & were earning great while I was still trying to figure out my life. Then one day my mom asked me why I had stopped writing & I had no answer. I remembered how much I loved reading & writing but cause of the time crunch I stopped writing all together.
I started writing again & soon I got an offer to write a brochure for a company. They liked it so much that they hired me! 🙂 Now I’m working as their Social Media Manager. My boss is the most humble and helping guy I’ve ever met!
I know this incredible girl who blogs (you can read her amazing blogs here) & taking inspiration from her, I started blogging. I’m very much into fashion & travelling, I started my blog where I talk about fashion, travel stories & food (these being my avocations). Currently I manage 4 blogs (you can read them here, here & here) & I can’t tell you how much happy it makes me when I write. My parents are so proud of me. I chose not to become a doctor but instead chose to follow my mom’s footsteps (She’s a freelance writer).
So don’t do what others want you to do instead choose something that doesn’t make you feel that you’re working. Do something that gives you the life you wanted to lead when you were a kid. The life that gives you immense happiness and contentment.

DON’T TRY TO FIT IN WHEN YOU WERE BORN TO STAND OUT!

Much love,

Lavie-ing it!

Like every other girl, I’m crazy about bags! Whenever I see a cool, trendy bag I just have to buy it! 😀 It’s an obsession. It had been a few months since I bought a new bag so obviously I was frantically searching to buy a new one. My search finally ended with this bag. Though I play safe with the colors that I buy but I couldn’t resist the urge to buy this sexy red one.

pic 1

Looks trendy, doesn’t it? 🙂
It’s a brick red colored bag from Lavie. It’s super stylish & spacious. It’s got three compartments, making it easy for me to carry all the stuff I need. The color makes it makes it stand out from my usual tan and black colored bags.

IMG-20141215-WA0004

It’s not too huge & hence easy to carry around. It’s priced at 4590 INR. Though it dug a hole in my pocket but it was totally worth it! 🙂 I can’t wait to flaunt it around!

Hope you liked the blog! 🙂
